Tawingo Drama Program
tiaPrincipal Tia Pearse runs the Drama Program at Tawingo College. Tia has always been and continues to be actively involved in theatre as an actor and a choreographer. She can often be seen in plays and musicals at the Algonquin Theatre and other local theatres.

Mrs. Pearse brings both dramatic flare and years of practical experience to the outstanding drama program at Tawingo College. Every single student at Tawingo College is involved in the drama program and from there Mrs. Pearse instills them with self-confidence. She recognizes the unique talents of each student and over the years ensures that every child is as comfortable as they can possibly be standing on a stage and addressing an audience. Tia firmly believes that this is a life skill that will benefit the students long after the curtains have gone down on their school play days.

The school year affords each of the students a variety of opportunities to perform in front of an audience. Assemblies take place every few months and are well attended by parents, extended family members and friends. Students act, sing and recite with their class or on their own. Because the school is so small, each child has a chance to shine.

Drama ProgramMrs. Pearse has a rare ability to offer the students direction while still ensuring that they find their own creative voice. As a result the end of the year plays, in which all the students are involved (even those in kindergarten), are a joy for every parent to watch. Each performer gets an opportunity to perform in a role that is just right for them. Mrs. Pearse's dedication to creating a nurturing, positive environment for both the rehearsals and the performances results in an experience that the students are tremendously excited to be a part of.

If you would like to meet with Mrs. Pearse to see if the Drama Program at Tawingo College would be right for your son or daughter they would be happy to take the time to answer your questions. Contact Tawingo College at (705) 789-5890.
